Uninstalling the Facebook app on your Iphone will increase battery life

The Facebook messenger was said to have been causing problems like screen malfunctioning on Android devices and now the same has been said about the official Facebook app for IOS. But in this case, it is said to have been draining more battery juice than expected.
Thanks to a report that revealed that iPhone users can get up to 15% more battery life if they simply delete Facebook’s resource hogging app and just use the Safari app instead.

If you think this is just a hoax and need to see it for yourself, all you have to do is Tap on Settings > Battery, wait for the Battery Usage information to load up. Now check to see which app is consuming the highest percentage of your phone’s juice. If you have Facebook installed, chances are you'll yours dearest close the top or even at the top.

Apparently, the test was performed on a number of iPhones by the Guardian and all ended with the same, power-draining, results. Samuel Gibbs, a writer for The Guardian, recently supplied some anecdotal proof: He discovered that deleting the Facebook app can improve iPhone battery life by up to 15 percent.

You won’t need Facebook’s irksome Messenger app just to send messages when using it from your browser. And you’ll almost certainly see an improvement in battery life. Worth the trade-off?

There’s no harm in trying. Ditch the app for a week (or even just a day) and see how it goes. You may find that browser-based Facebook affords all the feed goodness you need.
